Case Management Intern - Supportive Housing

Description:The Case Management Intern for the Patty Crowley Apartments (PCA) will engage with tenants to provide case management and therapeutic services. Tenant-focused services include helping women achieve their current goals for obtaining employment or income, and maintaining their housing. PCA tenants are women ages 18 and up who are formerly homeless, who have a disability, and have no children in their care.
Duties:Primary Tasks and Responsibilities:

� Work one-on-one in a case management relationship with specific clients as assigned

� Create/develop and facilitate at least one weekly group per semester for tenants with a focus on conflict resolution, healthy relationships, and sharing space with others.

� Offer individual meetings to clients for assistance with conflict resolution with their neighbors.

� Assist Case Manager with relevant tasks, including research of resources and relevant clinical information, meetings with participants/tenants, paperwork completion incl. case notes and goal plans, filing, etc.

� Meet with tenants to assist them with goal planning and achievement of personal goals.

� Participate in weekly supervision.

� Participate in on-site training and staff development opportunities on a consistent basis.

� Participate in twice-monthly �Clinical Rounds� meetings.
Qualifications:Applicant Strengths and Qualities:

� This position is designed for a first-year MSW student

� Interest in frequent, consistent engagement with clients

� Strong interest in women�s issues, and in working with women who have experienced homelessness and may have dealt or are dealing with mental illness, substance abuse, trauma, etc.

� Self-directing and comfortable working independently, without constant direct supervision

� Interest in Harm Reduction and the recovery model philosophies


Additional Requirements: All Interns are expected to follow and abide by the ethical standards of social work practice outlined by the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and the American Counseling Association (ACA). In addition, Interns are expected to abide by the policies of Deborah's Place including, but not limited to: rules governing confidentiality, dual relationships, honesty, and integrity. All Interns are expected to always act in good faith and in keeping with the mission and values of Deborah's Place. Interns must have an overall commitment to serving the women of Deborah's Place, and to contributing to a positive, respectful, and accepting environment at Deborah's Place.
